Terrible Ideas: More Mining Iterations

October 24, 2012
By

Be warned: This post is a bit of a rambling grab bag of topics. You know what I enjoy? Kitting out my high-end PVE ships with blingy gear. It's great fun for everyone – both the people who fly the blingy ships and the people who blow them up (and loot the resulting wreckage)....

FIRE-Brand Lyavite

September 22, 2012
By

For those who are unaware, there is a certain vanguard incursion site called "Nation Mining Colony". To complete the site, you have to clear out the spawns to make a can spawn, then deposit a stack of 255 units of an ore called lyavite into the can to destroy some scenery and get paid....

Vanguard Fleet Composition (Armor)

September 21, 2012
By

A couple of months ago I wrote about being trained as an incursion FC; this past Tuesday, I was officially promoted to Vanguard FC by Born-Ara, a private channel for armor incursion runners that works closely with The Ditanian Fleet, which is the public armor incursion channel. All this really amounts to is that...

BB39 – Home Is Where The Heart Is

August 26, 2012
By

For the 39th blog banter, Seismic Stan poses the question, “Some say a man’s home is his castle. For others it is wherever they lay their hat. The concept is just as nebulous in the New Eden sandbox.  In EVE Online, what does the concept of “home” mean to you?” For myself, home in...

Terrible Ideas: Mining Overhaul Revisited

August 13, 2012
By

Now that the mining barges have been updated, I thought I would take a look at the suggestions I made in the Mining Overhaul posts I made back in May and see how they compare to the changes that were actually made. In the first post, I outlined a variety of changes and additions to...

Incursion FC Training

July 13, 2012
By

So, I signed up to be trained as an FC for armor incursion sites. Before the nerf, I taught myself how to run vanguards, and I feel like I’m almost at that point now with the new sites, but I figured I’d sign up to learn how to run the higher-up sites. It’d be...

BB37 – Where’s the line?

July 6, 2012
By

In this month’s Blog Banter, Seismic Stan asks us, “EVE Online sits on the frontier of social gaming, providing an entertainment environment like no other. The vibrant society of interacting and conflicting communities, both within the EVE client and without, is the driving force behind EVE’s success. However, the anonymity of internet culture combined...

Terrible Ideas: Gas Miners, Q-Ships, and Smugglers, Oh My

July 3, 2012
By

There are a few of ideas that seem to drift in and out of discussions of EVE Online – smuggling, dedicated gas mining ships, and q-ships. Q-ships in particular are problematic, because to make them halfway viable there needs to be some way to disguise what they are. A pair of new modules can...

Relapse

July 3, 2012
By

Since leaving Ushra’Khan, I’ve decided to return to the life of an incursion bear for a while; I want a fatter wallet and a more versatile set of skills before I head back to null, and incursions have much to recommend over missions or exploration, being more profitable, more engaging, and more social –...

Farewell to Ushra’Khan

June 20, 2012
By

Ushra’Khan is disbanding. My corp, Children of Armok, recently left the alliance due to issues of our own – too many of our members had left or gone inactive to justify our staying  – but we had hoped that U’K would continue fighting the good fight without us, and I’m saddened by this news....
